Interests
- Photography
I will take pictures of anything. My photos are here. - Birds
I am primarily interested in Zebra Finches, but I have in the past kept a number of other species. - Computers
I enjoy programming and building web sites. My birds are often used as an excuse to try out new technology, for instance:
Zebra Finches on the Internet - my first html was written for this web site (1995)
The Genetic Advisor - my first ever JavaScript program (1997)
Frequently Asked Questions - my first Active Server Pages (Visual Basic Script) program (1998)
The Zebra Finch Designer - this applet is my first ever Java program (2001)
FlashKana - my first, and only, J2ME application. Useful if you’re trying to learn Japanese and have a mobile phone (2003).
